Stephen is a Filipino-American based in
New York City.
For three years he worked closely with Magnum photographer Jim Goldberg
before becoming an MFA Candidate at
Columbia University’s Graduate Film Program.
His first year film, TOUCH, premiered at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival and also played in the 2016 International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand.
Stephen received a grant from
The David Ross Fetzer Foundation for Emerging Artists ( 2015 ) for his film, The Sound of Coins Hitting Brass.
His thesis from Columbia University, Manila is Full of Men Named Boy, premiered in competition at the 75th Venice Film Festival as well as the 28th Busan International Film Festival.
